On October 14, 2009, Leadership Troy will host the 41st Community Awards Banquet at Petruzzello's Banquet and Conference Center on Rochester Road. This annual event honors the significant contributions of individuals and businesses who give back to the Troy community.
This will be seventh year that the Spirit of America Award will also be presented at the Community Awards Banquet. The Troy Veterans Memorial Committee sponsors this award; more details appear below.

Leadership Troy is sponsoring nominations in three separate categories:
Outstanding Volunteer Award: Troy community organizations can honor an individual who has helped their organization thrive. In 2008, 15 organizations bestowed an Outstanding Volunteer award. To honor someone in your organization, simply download the Outstanding Volunteer nomination form, fill it out and mail it in before the September 10, 2009 deadline.
Distinguished Citizen Award: for the individual who best represents volunteerism and devotion to the betterment of the Troy community. Click here to see a list of previous Distinguished Citizen award winners. Anyone may nominate a candidate for the 2009 Distinguished Citizen by completing the Distinguished Citizen nomination form and mailing it in before September 10, 2009. Selection criteria are included on the nomination form.
Business Community Appreciation Award: a Troy business which has contributed generously to a non-profit organization or to the Troy community with their financial support, time, and energy. Anyone may nominate a business by completing the Business Community Appreciation Award nomination form and mailing it in before September 10, 2009. Selection criteria are included on the nomination form.

The Troy Veterans Memorial Committee will be presenting its Spirit of America Award at the 2009 Community Awards Banquet.
