The following links are provided as a public service to the Troy community. Leadership Troy has no financial ties to these sites.
There are three groups of links: volunteering opportunities, educational opportunities to build community leaders, and technology resources available exclusively for not-for-profit organizations. If you would like to recommend additional links for this site, please send an e-mail to leadershiptroy@hotmail.com.
Volunteering Opportunities
Check out Southeast Michigan's clearinghouse of volunteering opportunites, the George W. Romney Volunteer Center. Whether you are an individual seeking volunteer opportunites, or a not-for-profit organization that wants to recruit volunteers, the George W. Romney Volunteer Center can meet your needs.
Similar to the above is VolunteerMatch, which offers volunteering opportunities locally and nationwide.
Educational Opportunities
The Internet Nonprofit Center is a free online resource "of information provided by participants in many online discussions about nonprofits and their work." The Nonprofit FAQ section provides selected resources and a wealth of information about a broad variety of management issues for nonprofit organizations. These online resources are sponsored by the international group Action Without Borders.
Technology Resources for Not-for-Profit Organizations
Techsoup.org is a technology website that features "instructional articles and worksheets for nonprofit staff members who utilize information technologies, as well as technology planning information for executives and other decision makers." Techsoup also "provide(s) nonprofits access to donated and discounted technology products through (its) Techsoup Stock service."
